Ketamine was approved for use against treatment resistant depression in 2019. Shortly thereafter, ketamine infusion clinics began to appear. Today finding one isn't difficult and for those with the means to afford the treatment, insurance coverage is spotty, it may provide a solution that has eluded them for a lifetime. I was diagnosed with depression in my mid 20s and have struggled with it ever since. I've taken a who's who of anti-depression drugs starting with the old tricyclics and moving to modern SSRI solutions. In 2020, I underwent eight sessions of Ketamine infusion and while the result wasn't a dramatic come to Jesus experience, it was certainly helpful and I have not suffered a major bout since then.
