Ramen is Classy
After growing up eating the ten for a dollar original Oodles of Noodles variety of brick shaped instant ramen, I have been very pleased to see the proliferation of Japanese style ramen restaurants start to catch on in my area. Long a staple of hungry (and poor) college students, adolescents and prison inmates, ramen is now a respectable dish when served in its traditional form. That's not to say that the instant noodles aren't tasty, because let let's face it, they are delicious. Ramen is not an ancient dish. The first Ramen was served in the Chinatown area of the Japanese city of Yokahama in the early 20th century.
