The Quest Guy, an IndyWeb MVP

R. Scott Jones, IndyWeb MVP and all around good dude

Out of all the people I've met on the Internet since I started blogging, the one I probably communicate with the most is R. Scott Jones. Scott is a true Renascence Man and just an all around good dude with a wealth of knowledge and ideas he shares on his various websites. You'll want to follow him now because he and his wife are getting ready to go on a 100 day trip around the world, which sounds like the adventure of a lifetime, except Scott's already had enough adventures for several lifetimes. He is best know for visiting every national park unit, national monument, and national conservation area - 419 separate places.

He's always coming up with ideas to help the community, including the recently launched Blog Prompts site, which lets you click a button and get a prompt to write about.

Another one of his projects is his public notes, an immensely readable treatise on all sorts of topics but notably Return on Adventure, journaling, memory, and strategies for aging.

If you are a travel buff, make sure to check out his list of quests which are wide and varied, including 50 Countries by Age 50, The Highest Points in Flat States, Sites from the Manhattan Project, A State Park in Every State and many more.

Scott's got a lot more projects and he's a prolific and talented writer. This is the kind of person you get on the IndyWeb to discover.
