Tom Scott's YouTube Videos

My 77-year old father loves YouTube. He watches videos every day and likes to share them. Two things I love about my old man are his curiosity and the wide range of interests. The range of videos he's shared with me include a Vietnamese farmer who had MacGyver like skills in building things on his land, a perpetually barefoot Kentucky philosopher, various bluegrass acts and the history of Scotland. I never have any idea what he's going to find next. He had heart surgery today, so I decided he might not have the energy to do his own searches for a while. I did a little research and made him a playlist he can just click and watch. Here's what I picked out for him.

  1. Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell He will take notes and quiz me, I'll bet
  2. Alternate History Hub - He will argue with the computer screen
  3. Good Mythical Morning These guys are from a neighboring county
  4. Marques Brownlee - Dad has had a computer for 40 years
  5. NPR Music He will listen to anything
  6. Crazy Russin Hacker Another local connection. Despite the name, this guy lives in the NC mountains
  7. People Are Awesome There is a going to be a lot of "You won't believe this" after he watches some of these videos.
  8. Amazing Space This will be another chance for him to learn stuff the rest of us don't know.
  9. Tom Scott Supposedly, Tom Scott is funny and informative at the same time and he has several video on flying. Since Dad is a retired pilot, he'll probably dig them.
  10. Rick Steve's Europe Dad is well traveled but his health keeps him close to home these days, so he'll probably like seeing some of the places he's been in these videos.
